Side by side is fabulous. It is a school that allows all it's children to learn through play. On his first day, my son Yosef said to me 'More, I want more side by side'.

First Steps
Children with special needs have the right to learn side-by-side with their peers. Side by Side is committed to enriching the lives and education of its students with appropriate learning experiences.
Side by Side are committed to creating an environment where all pupils:
? Have the opportunity to reach their full potential
? Are valued and have respect for one another
? Have access to the National Curriculum
? Are enabled to lead a self-sufficient life
? Are encouraged to build self-confidence, self-discipline and motivation.
Pupils with special needs require a specifically designed programme of ordered learning to facilitate consistent and realistic progression. At Side by Side each child is provided with an individual education plan, setting targets that are reviewed regularly.
At Side by Side, the nursery is fully integrated with approximately two thirds of children ascribed with disabilities. The Primary school consists entirely of pupils with special needs, where an integration programme is provisioned in conjunction with local mainstream schools.
Our staffing levels are more privileged than those found in mainstream schools, with each instructor and educator specifically trained to work with children who’s special needs require extra attention. Each child is given a range of therapies designed to promote maximum progress and development.
Side by Side effectively combines the advantages of a mainstream education with the specialist services available. Students are taught holistically, approaching additional educational methods through art, movement, music and more.
Investing in a brighter future
Side by Side have set their sights, towards establishing a brand new school, with state-of-the-art facilities, to accommodate the influx of new students, with and without learning disabilities.
In September 2006, land contracts were exchanged for a plot previously home to the Avigdor Primary School, 65-67 Lordship Road. Whilst acknowledging this as a hugely positive transition, Side by Side must raise the £10m necessary sponsorship and donation required to construct and fully-equip the new school building with sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pools, gymnasiums and activity centre alike.
